"Basking in the Banksia" Selected as a finalist for the Holmes Art Prize 2023

Kylie Sheahon's watercolour artwork, "Basking in the Banksia" has been selected as a finalist in the Holmes Art Prize for 2023.
Her entry can be viewed as one of 40 exquisite realistic Australian bird artworks in this major national art prize. The onerous task of selecting one Best in Show winner and four awards of excellence lies with competition judge Steve Morvell, an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist. All artworks are available for sale during the exhibition.
The Holmes Art Prize 2023 Exhibition is hosted by Sunshine Coast Art and Framing Gallery from October 27th to November 24th at 3 Longwood Street, Minyama, Queensland 4575.

For a second consecutive year, Kylie Sheahon's watercolour artwork has been selected as one of 35 finalists for the prestigious Holmes Prize for Excellence in Realistic Australian Bird Art for 2022.
The Artwork titled "Gangis the Gang-gang" was displayed along with 34 other finalists in an exhibition held at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve between 7 October - 30 October 2022.

"King Kookaburra" Selected as a finalist for the Holmes Prize for Excellence in Realistic Australian Bird Art 2021

Kylie Sheahon's watercolour artwork "King Kookaburra" has been selected as one of 35 finalists for the prestigious Holmes Prize for Excellence in Realistic Australian Bird Art for 2021.

The artwork will be displayed along with 34 other finalists in an exhibition held at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve between 18 November - 12 December 2021.
​
The official opening and announcement of winners will take place on the 20 November, 2021.

"The Stoic One" - Joins 100+ Artworks for Conservation Project

"The Stoic One" painted by Kylie Sheahon has been donated to the Living With Koalas (LWK) conservation project, titled 100+ Artworks for a Koala.
The original artwork, along with 100+ other artworks will go for auction to help raise money for koala conservation. A large canvas print will also be produced to travel around Australia to galleries, schools and events to help raise awareness about the vulnerability of koalas to extinction.

Money will be raised by purchasing a book that showcases all the artworks on the tour, including "The Stoic One". Funds raised will go towards replanting essential eucalyptus trees for koalas in the hope to ensure their survival for future generations. 50% of the auction proceeds will also go directly towards koala conservation efforts.
